PREMISE:
Lucca Comics & Games, an all-Italian event that has been leaving its mark for over 50 years, so much so that in recent years, internationally, it is considered second “only” to Comiket of Tokyo (now in its 96th edition – 08/2019 – which in 4 days has recorded over 730,000 presences! … so get ready for the 97th from 28-31/12/2019).
The 53rd year of the Lucca Comics and Games festival also ended with over 270,000 tickets sold! What can I say, not even the bad weather has stopped the people passionate about COMICS (4 days out of 5 it rained heavily!! – however, over 550,000 presences have been estimated among employees, invited guests and presences of all kinds in this edition of 2019 ..)
This very special event therefore brings to Lucca, as every year, fans of comics, board games, video games, fantasy fiction and art, animation, cinema and TV series from all over the world.
Transenne.net had the honor of being able to participate in this all-Italian and international flagship, taking part in it with its modular system Spazio Mp2 and with other delimitation systems present in the city of Lucca, in addition to our people counting system MpCounter, which assisted the work of the organizers with the automatic counting of entrances, exits and daily attendance in real time in different pavilions of the event (over 50 gates located on 5 distinct areas of the city).
Also this 53rd edition, therefore, confirms the great success of the event at national and international level. Over 1,600 activities were recorded, including meetings, tournaments, workshops and live performances. For row lovers, more than 4,000 autograph sessions; 1,500 gaming stations with tens of thousands of sessions played. And again: 16 concerts and musical performances; 2 plays produced by the festival; over 1,000 speakers.
Many famous guests, one above all, Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek – Cpt Jean Luc Picard), delighting fans with a Oberon’s monologue in
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
of Shakespear c/o il teatro del Giglio (LU), with the series presented for the new Italian television, satellite and PayTV season, such as for Netflix, the series “
The Witcher
” and with the celebration of the international success of “
La casa di Carta
” – with a pavilion entirely dedicated to you in Piazza Anfiteatro (LU). There were also
“sold out” concerts
in the area called Japan Town (c / o Giardino degli Osservanti – LU) the
Oliver Onions
and
Cristina D’Avena
who retraced their great successes making everyone return “little ones”.
