Yet another masterpiece of Eco Race Events: over 60 athletes for the Italian stage of the Paratriathlon World Cup 2017.
“Disabled” athletes from all 5 continents, including the Japanese Paratriathlon national team. Stage valid for the assignment of valid and important points for the qualification for the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo. In the different categories, therefore, they have tried: blind, amputees, paraplegics and others. First in the 750-meter swimming fraction, then in the 20-kilometer cycling fraction and finally in the 5 km running fraction – obviously the lake chosen for the swimming fraction, the hinterland for cycling and finally the historic center for running. Among the favorites are the Italian Giovanni Achenza, bronze at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and fresh European champion, and the Brescian Veronica Yoko Plebani, who competes in triathlon after participating in the Winter Paralympics of snowboarding and summer paralympics in canoeing.
Present at the event, demonstrating the prestige of the World Cup stage, the President of the CIP Luca Pancalli who declared: “From the Blues of the Paratriathlon always come great satisfaction. Also this time many excellent performances in a wonderful day of sport”.
A balance therefore that sees the international paratriathlon movement in absolute growth, large participation and of absolute level in Iseo, in a setting that has rewarded the athletes with the city that has welcomed them with its great support and an impeccable organization taken care of as usual by Eco Race Events.
